Job Overview

As an Operations Manager - Production at Thistle, you will oversee a team of Production Leads and Associates to ensure smooth day-to-day production operations. Your primary focus will be on maintaining quality standards, enhancing team performance, and driving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and Time Management: Supervise and coordinate production team operations, including scheduling, time management, performance evaluations, hiring, and discipline.
  • Team Morale and Development: Foster a positive work environment and boost employee morale by identifying training needs and supporting employee development and professional growth.
  • Liaison and Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between leads, associates, and the management team to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Quality Control: Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Thistle's quality standards, consistently producing products that meet regulatory requirements.
  • Initiative Implementation: Lead the implementation of new and ongoing production initiatives to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Culinary, Production, and Facilities) to ensure smooth operations in receiving, QA, and GMP adherence.
  • Auditing and Meetings: Conduct regular production area audits and shift meetings to ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety, and safety regulations.
  • Compliance and Training: Ensure OSHA compliance and that all COVID-19 protocols are followed, and stay up to date with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain a working knowledge of relevant processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred; 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or production (food manufacturing experience highly preferred).
  • Skills and Qualities: Strong communication skills, ability to provide balanced feedback, maintain high performance standards, build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, and inspire team members to excel.
  • Certifications and Requirements: NJ Food Handlers Certification (or equivalent) required; flexibility to work weekends and early morning shifts; comfort working in a refrigerated environment; ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and perform physical tasks.
  • Tech Savviness: Tech-savvy with proficiency in G-Suite, Slack, and other tech platforms.

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000-$80,000, depending on location and qualifications.
