The ASPCA's Community Medicine (CM) team provides expert veterinary care to underserved communities in Los Angeles. Our team of skilled veterinarians, technicians, and assistants deliver high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter services, preventive care, and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries.
Responsibilities:- Provide compassionate, quality care to patients in underserved areas, overseeing all aspects of veterinary care during a clinic day.
- Perform pre-surgery physical examinations, diagnose and treat post-surgical medical complications, and provide humane euthanasia in accordance with ASPCA policy and protocols.
- Communicate effectively with clients, discuss physical examination and test results, and provide discharge instructions for patients.
- Collaborate with the CM team to ensure seamless delivery of services and high-quality patient care.
- Current California State Veterinary License
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
- Experience in general small animal practice or shelter medicine
- Experience in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter required
- $1,000 (8-hour shift)
- Regular part-time schedules or relief/fill-in available weekdays (Monday through Friday)
- Opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals committed to animal welfare
English (Required), Spanish
Education and Work Experience:Doctorate: Veterinary Medicine (Required), DVM: Veterinary Medicine
