About the Role:

The ASPCA Community Medicine team is seeking a skilled Relief Veterinarian to provide expert veterinary care to underserved communities in Los Angeles. As a Relief Veterinarian, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides quality services directly to the communities that need us most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients in underserved areas of Los Angeles.
  • Oversee all aspects of veterinary care during a clinic day, including physical examination, diagnostics, treatment recommendations, and delivery.
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations on all surgical candidates.
  • Diagnose and treat post-surgical medical complications.
  • Provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals in our care, our staff, and for our clients by using low-stress handling techniques.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive hourly rate of $1,000 for an 8-hour shift.
  • Regular part-time schedules or relief/fill-in available weekdays (Monday through Friday) 8-4 (HQHVSN) or 9-5 (PPC).
  • A temporary, contingent position employed through a third-party staffing agency.

Requirements:

  • Current California State Veterinary License.
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.

Language: English (Required), Spanish.
