KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Coordination and Management
Oversee and manage the planning, coordination, and supervision of assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within designated disciplines. Foster and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service.
Planning and Implementation
- Assess construction documents for accuracy and feasibility
- Understand and interpret contract documents
- Collaborate with design engineers to align plans and specifications, addressing any discrepancies
- Contribute to the creation and management of project schedules, including three and six-week forecasts
- Develop a comprehensive site logistics strategy
- Utilize Mortenson tools and equipment effectively
- Work closely with partner superintendents on project alignment
- Conduct on-site orientations for project teams
- Facilitate pre-construction planning sessions and project meetings
- Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and labor crews
- Manage hiring, transfers, and dismissals of craft team members as necessary
- Mentor and coach assistant superintendents and project team members
- Ensure accurate task coding on time cards
- Monitor work progress and productivity of craft teams
- Oversee training for craft team members to ensure readiness
- Engage in career development discussions with foremen and craft teams
Establish and nurture relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
Performance Management
Lead by example, providing constructive feedback and effectively managing team performance.
Additional Responsibilities
- Oversee safety, quality, risk, and compliance management for projects and team members
- Identify and address adverse working conditions
- Seek and implement process improvements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or 10 years of relevant trade experience
- A minimum of eight years in construction, with at least two years in a supervisory role
- Valid driver's license
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects
- Strong attention to detail for organizing and managing various project tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction law and accepted business practices
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Positive professional demeanor and strong customer service orientation
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policies
- Effective listening and communication skills, welcoming diverse perspectives
