Key Responsibilities:
The Lead Research Scientist will serve as the primary expert in chemical applications at our DMSO production facility. This individual will:
- Provide technical guidance and practical insights to various teams, including commercial, quality, engineering, and operations.
- Manage and expand a versatile applications laboratory to facilitate commercial development efforts.
- Generate applications data to bolster our initiatives in emerging markets for DMSO, including agrichemicals, pharmaceuticals, and advanced materials.
- Support project teams in enhancing plant processes and developing new products.
- Collaborate with external technology firms and consultants to inform investment strategies.
- Assist the Engineering Technology group with chemistry-related support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to product quality control and assurance.
- Conduct research into relevant analytical methods and perform data analysis.
- Provide chemistry support for new business initiatives and market research activities.
- Assist in creating marketing materials to promote our products.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a relevant field, with management experience preferred.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse functions.
- Solid research and development management capabilities, including experimental design and project management.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with good documentation practices, cGMPs, and ISO 9001 is advantageous.
- Experience in applications development or new chemical product development, particularly with specialty chemicals.
- A flexible, self-motivated approach with a commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct.
