Postdoctoral Fellow - Biomedical Sciences

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in the Biomedical Sciences department at the University of Alabama. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge research project focused on developing an advanced drug delivery approach to selectively tune impaired immune cells in cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in the field of immuno-oncology
  • Design and execute experiments to test the efficacy of lead candidates in human and murine immune cells
  • Conduct pharmacokinetic and efficacy studies in mice models
  • Participate in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations
  • Assist with grant writing, lab maintenance, and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, or closely related discipline
  • Experience conducting research projects and developing scholarly products such as manuscripts and conference presentations
  • Strong foundation in organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, immuno-oncology
  • Familiarity with biochemical assays, molecular docking, in vitro experiments, and in vivo mice experiments
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting research projects relating to organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, immuno-oncology, immunology, targeted drug delivery, and cancer drug discovery
