Job Summary

The Lead Phlebotomist is a key member of our clinical laboratory team, responsible for overseeing the phlebotomy department and ensuring the smooth operation of blood collection services.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of phlebotomy staff, ensuring adequate staffing and resources to meet patient needs.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance laboratory efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to monitor and improve test ordering and result reporting.
  • Provide training and guidance to new phlebotomists, students, and residents.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and safety protocols.
  • Manage phlebotomy inventory and budget, identifying areas for cost savings and process optimization.
  • Communicate effectively with hospital patient units and laboratory staff to ensure seamless information transfer.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in phlebotomy, preferably with leadership or supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of phlebotomy training or certification.
  • Phlebotomy certificate required.
