Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team at Jabil. As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for determining the direction for the IT architecture, standards, design, and implementation approaches for the company's application systems, infrastructure, and/or network-based cloud product systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates, evaluates, and implements plans and design proposals for high-impact IT solutions and their use involving leading-edge technologies and methods.
  • Defines the overall solution architecture consistent with Jabil's methodology.
  • Provides technical leadership and is responsible for the technical solution by providing leadership for the customer, project manager, domain architects, domain specialists, and application engineers to advance and deliver solutions.
  • Consults and informs Enterprise Architects and Senior IT Architects to design and deliver solutions.
  • Earns trust of clients and management.
  • Assesses merits of alternative technical approaches and gains consensus for the best approach.
  • Ensures that non-functional requirements are satisfied, including security, disaster recovery, availability, and performance.
  • Researches technology and industry trends to hone both personal and Jabil's competitive edge.
  • Develops expertise in one of the following disciplines: Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture, Information Architecture, Application Architecture, Technology Infrastructure Architecture.
  • Mentors IT professionals.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of all architectural components and their interrelationships.
  • Knowledge of Software Engineering and Architectural Principles and methods.
  • Solid presentation and written communication skills.
  • Good judgment and the ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Team lead experience in application development.
  • Knowledge and experience of one or more languages, e.g., Java, C#, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with server-side technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience with client-side technologies, e.g., Node, Angular.
  • Knowledge and experience working in an Agile methodology.
  • Knowledge of SOA, including REST, SOAP, API Management, and other integration patterns, e.g., ESB, EIP, etc.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Knowledge of UML or ArchiMate.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Open CA Level 1: Certified
  • TOGAF 9 Foundation
  • ArchiMate 3 Foundation

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Post-graduate degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems expected.
  • 10+ or more years of IT implementation experience or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a minimum of 4 implementations (preferred in Enterprise scale environments).
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience as an Enterprise or Technical Architect.

Experience with:

  • Complex, cross-cutting design and delivery of AWS Data Architectures that could span the areas of Application & Integration Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Development Architecture, Operations Architecture, Security Architecture.
  • Designing and building cloud-native data solutions that could cover container services, serverless architectures, high availability, and fault-tolerant implementations, database services, data integration & big data processing and storage concepts.
  • Ability to work with multiple project teams simultaneously.
  • Experience in Agile DevOps delivery and everything-as-code.
  • Experience with DataOps for lean data processes.
  • Experience in Decoupled Architecture.
  • Experience with Microservice Architecture.
  • Strategic thinking and getting hands-on helping development teams implement technical solutions.
  • Ability to articulate data integration patterns and strategies, associated data pipeline design trade-offs, and methods for tracking data lineage.
  • Work with other architects to perform overall architecture design, performance tuning/cost management, and implementation of Big Data datalake solution with AWS cloud environments.
  • Expert understanding in the native AWS stack like s3, glue, Lake Formation, Hudi, MWAA (Managed Workflow Apache Airflow), Sagemaker, CloudFormation/Terraform, IAM.
  • Understanding of Cloud Datawarehouses: Snowflake and Redshift.
  • Experience with Data Integration Tools: Talend, Informatica.
  • Good understanding of the capabilities of a Modern Data Platform.
  • Good presentation and communications skills in written and spoken English.
