Position Overview:

This role is part of a specialized team within the Internal Revenue Service, focused on ensuring compliance with federal tax regulations.

Job Summary:

We are seeking qualified candidates who can leverage their expertise in accounting and auditing to assess and interpret financial records and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and federal tax law.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and evaluate accounting records to determine their impact on federal tax obligations.
  • Interpret and apply federal tax legislation to various entities, including individuals and corporations.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders to resolve tax-related issues and provide guidance on financial management practices.
Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A valid CPA certification or a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 30 semester hours in accounting coursework.
  • Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in a related field combined with relevant experience equivalent to four years, including substantial accounting coursework.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at the grade 12 level, demonstrating a thorough understanding of accounting and auditing practices.
Specialized Experience:

Successful candidates will have:

  • Experience applying accounting principles to analyze financial data and its implications for tax liabilities.
  • Proficiency in interpreting federal tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess business operations and financial conditions.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with professionals across various disciplines.
