About the Role:

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Environmental Sustainability Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will assist in data interpretation, collaborate on noise modeling efforts, and prepare reports to deliver analysis results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with data interpretation using spreadsheet analysis while maintaining accurate data documentation.
  • Collaborate on desktop noise modeling efforts to support renewable energy, transportation, and land development projects.
  • Assist with field measurements, equipment maintenance, and associated documentation.
  • Prepare reports and memos to deliver analysis results and communicate technical concepts.
  • Research and interpret local noise ordinances and general planning/zoning policies to identify applicable noise regulations.
  • Process data from project team members and anticipate information needs and presentation format as part of engineering workflows.

Requirements:

  • Strong capabilities in data manipulation and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic understanding of acoustic concepts, including noise level metrics and common environmental noise sources.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple assignments and work with limited direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or possessing a degree in acoustics, physics, environmental planning, mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems, mechanical (HVAC) equipment, or environmental policy.
  • Experience using noise modeling software, such as CadnaA, SoundPlan, WindPro, or TNM 2.5.
  • Experience using sound level meters for field noise measurements.

Compensation:

USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $23.00/Hr.
