Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and dispense medications, providing accurate and timely information to healthcare teams.
  2. Monitor patient drug therapies, identifying potential issues and advising interventions.
  3. Assist in the maintenance of pharmacy records, including patient profiles, charge system files, and inventories.
  4. Control medications, ensuring quality, security, and proper disposal.
  5. Manage workflow processes, including pharmacist verification, labeling, and packaging.
  6. Utilize computer systems to screen for drug interactions, therapeutic duplication, and other potential issues.
  7. Provide pharmacological information to healthcare professionals and counsel patients on drug therapies.
  8. Develop staff pharmacological knowledge through training and education programs.
  9. Comply with state and federal drug laws, maintaining records and adhering to infection-control protocols.
  10. Perform other duties as required, including minimal travel and overnight stays.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX) and Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE) certifications.
  • State-specific license where required.
  • Five years' experience in a pharmacy environment, with a preference for healthcare, senior living, or long-term care settings.
  • Exemplary computer skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
