About the Role

Berry Global is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance of our production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Implement and monitor performance standards pertaining to Safety, SQF, Labor laws, equipment reliability/efficiency, and equipment up time.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities to ensure highest standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
  • Manage the Work Order database and PEM to collect and analyze data to improve safety, plant equipment reliability, production efficiency, and achieve cost reductions.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of facility machinery, building, grounds, and security.
  • Manage inventories of maintenance material, supplies, and repair parts.
  • Responsible for electrical and mechanical equipment layouts and the modification of facilities within the plant.
  • Ensure Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and ISO Quality System processes are maintained.
  • Manage towards metrics such as wrench time, MEFF, spending, and mean time between failures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Maintenance or Engineering; 5-7 years of relative experience.
  • Green belt certified preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of machinery used in plastic film manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of controls and mechanics of automated process equipment, robot arms, and conveyors.
  • Excellent skills in coordinating efforts of diverse personnel.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management and manufacturing groups.
  • Knowledge required to assist in making final decisions regarding departmental procedures, work schedules, and the ability to make recommendations regarding hiring and firing of manufacturing personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to train and develop subordinates.
  • Thorough knowledge of, and experience with, records maintenance relating to the expectations of regulatory agencies, such as OSHA, SQF, and ISO auditors, relative to plant operation and maintenance responsibilities, Arc Flash, BSME, BSEE, BSIE, BSCE, NFPA, and ANSI.
