Job Description
Allied Universal is seeking an Event Management Operations Supervisor for our Southern California region, based out of our Westminster, CA location.
In collaboration with branch and functional leadership, the Event Management Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily administrative operations, including invoicing, scheduling, client relations, event oversight, compliance, and recruitment for dedicated clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain future work schedules by assigning appropriately trained personnel; enhance tracking of staff training and certifications; develop staffing plans to ensure readiness for emergency operations and long-term workforce growth.
- Act in an event management oversight role to ensure event staff effectiveness and compliance with vendor and client expectations; create and implement quality assurance programs; provide expert guidance for resolving any deficiencies.
- Collaborate with the Hiring Specialist and Recruiting team to actively participate in recruitment, interviewing, selection, and training of new hires; assist in performance evaluations, addressing employee grievances, and disciplinary actions in consultation with management.
- Establish and maintain an onsite inventory of essential supplies in partnership with the site team, including emergency medical supplies, rations, flashlights, batteries, and inclement weather gear.
- Make independent decisions on personnel assignments to align competencies with specific roles while managing officer utilization to minimize non-billable overtime and achieve business objectives.
- Oversee the selection and placement of direct reports, delegate work assignments, and implement performance improvement and career development plans.
- Manage open work shifts to optimize event staff utilization and reduce non-billable expenses.
- Submit procurement orders and provide recommendations for productivity and cost reduction to management.
- Serve as a backup for scheduling by creating, modifying, and managing event schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Adhere to company policies regarding timekeeping, meal, and rest periods, ensuring proper documentation and conducting audits for accuracy.
- Conduct disciplinary and counseling sessions with staff as necessary, ensuring documentation aligns with company standards and issues are resolved appropriately.
- Initiate termination procedures as required, executing meetings and completing follow-up documentation according to company policies.
- Maintain high employee morale and low turnover through effective communication and timely problem resolution; ensure consistency in hiring, counseling, disciplinary, and termination processes.
- Ensure smooth operations by enforcing event-specific policies and procedures through effective communication and training.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Licensing requirements may vary based on state and local regulations and may be required prior to employment. Previous experience as a team leader in event management, customer service, or protective services is preferred. Proven ability to influence key business partners and drive organizational change. Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity. Advanced computer proficiency and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in military roles related to law enforcement or security, graduation from a Certified Public Safety Academy, or a degree in protective services, business, or a related field. Previous event security or corporate security experience is advantageous. Familiarity with ABI/WinTeam is a plus.
