Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled high school educator with a proven track record of effective teaching practices. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality instruction in mathematics that fosters student engagement and understanding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of student learning and effective pedagogical strategies.
  • Regularly monitor and analyze student performance data.
  • Maintain a structured and focused educational environment.
  • Develop curriculum and lesson plans aligned with state educational standards.
  • Implement classroom management policies consistently throughout the school.
  • Create a supportive and encouraging learning atmosphere.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with families.
  • Participate in school-wide events and family engagement activities.
  • Utilize assessment data to set academic goals and guide instructional decisions.
  • Handle all classroom-related administrative tasks, including managing instructional materials and student records.
  • Prioritize instructional practices that provide immediate feedback to students.
  • Use formative assessment results to inform both short-term and long-term teaching strategies.
  • Embrace constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid Indiana teaching license or in the process of obtaining reciprocity.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Preferred experience of 2-5 years in an urban public school setting.
  • Experience teaching in a public high school environment is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in helping students from underserved communities achieve academic excellence.
  • Experience in utilizing student data to enhance instructional practices.
  • Strong commitment to the mission and values of KIPP Indy.
  • Thorough knowledge of mathematics content and compliance with educator standards.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check as mandated by law.

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive benefits package. Performance-based bonuses may also be available.
