At GEO Next Generation High School - Indianapolis, we are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced educator to teach Secondary Biology to our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive curriculum for Secondary Biology, aligning with state standards and ensuring student mastery of key concepts.
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration among students.
  • Develop and implement assessments to measure student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and involve them in their child's education.
  • Work collaboratively with special education teachers and administrators to support students with diverse needs.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in school functions to contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures to maintain a respectful and productive learning environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in science education and incorporate technology to enhance student learning.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, or at least 24 credit hours in content area.
  • A valid Professional Educator of Initial Practitioner License for Grades 9-12.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles.
  • Experience with integrating technology in the classroom to drive academic achievement.
  • At least two years of successful teaching experience in an urban environment.
