Position Overview: Cardiovascular Specialty Sales Consultant

The role of the Executive Sales Consultant is tailored for a high-achieving Pharmaceutical Sales Professional with extensive experience, established relationships, and clinical expertise in the Cardiology and Rare Disease sectors. This position focuses on identifying, developing, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of customers, stakeholders, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes. As an Executive Sales Consultant, you will be expected to cultivate enduring business relationships with key clients while gaining in-depth insights into the primary drivers, influences, and prescribing behaviors within the designated territory.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities for the Cardiovascular Specialty Sales Consultant include:

  • Building and nurturing positive relationships with key decision-makers, enhancing market penetration in underdeveloped areas, and driving growth within existing accounts while expanding outreach to new providers;
  • Developing comprehensive territory sales strategies, including setting goals and allocating resources effectively for key customers;
  • Securing formulary acceptance, understanding specialty pharmacy distribution models, and managing product inventory where applicable;
  • Acquiring a thorough scientific understanding of clinical research and the competitive landscape;
  • Collaborating with customers as a trusted partner, proactively identifying potential patients and facilitating their access to therapy;
  • Marketing and promoting Bayer products in a compliant manner;
  • Maintaining timely administrative tasks, including expense reporting, product certifications, and staying updated on product and clinical information;
  • Adhering to Bayer and pharmaceutical compliance standards;
  • Exhibiting a high level of accountability, being a self-starter who consistently meets or exceeds sales targets.

Candidate Profile:

Bayer is seeking a candidate who meets the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree;
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical sales;
  • Strong background in promoting products within the Cardiovascular therapeutic area;
  • Proven track record of driving sales within defined customer segments and territories;
  • Exceptional consultative selling skills, customer service orientation, and strong written and verbal communication abilities;
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel as necessary, including overnight and weekend travel;
  • Ability to comply with customer credentialing and safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Business or a Clinical discipline;
  • Relevant experience in promoting products in Hospital, Heart Failure, or Rare Disease therapeutic areas;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical sales.
