At Soho House, a Dining Server plays a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our members and guests. The Server is tasked with comprehensively understanding the menu offerings and ensuring all dietary restrictions are addressed, while creating a welcoming and sophisticated dining atmosphere in line with Soho House Service Standards. This position is essential for enhancing guest satisfaction and the overall success of our service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and management, completing all required training checklists.
  • Enhance the dining experience by providing insightful food and beverage pairing recommendations.
  • Communicate daily specials effectively to boost sales through friendly and professional interaction.
  • Keep management and the Executive Chef informed about any dietary concerns or potential issues during service.
  • Accurately complete checkout reports at the end of each shift, ensuring they are verified and signed by management.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations, as well as all company policies and local laws.
  • Accommodate special requests from guests or propose alternative solutions that align with business needs.
  • Ensure that food orders are properly plated and served in a timely manner.
  • Assist fellow team members with service tasks to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the server area and bar, including polishing utensils and glassware.
  • Continuously educate oneself about the menu to provide informed suggestions to guests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Essential Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume settings while effectively solving problems under pressure.
  • Exhibit a hospitable and approachable demeanor, demonstrating a passion for customer service.
  • Show competency as outlined in the training schedule.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to take direction and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with tipping practices and POS systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
  • Capable of making quick movements across the property.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, or pull at least 20 pounds.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as necessary.
  • Engage in physical activities such as lifting and cleaning.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in warm temperatures.
