Hiring Range: $45,500 - $60,000, commensurate w/ experience.

Full Time or Part Time: Full Time

Job Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is committed to providing quality education and workforce services. This position is crucial for overseeing the facilities management team and ensuring the smooth operation of campus infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise campus facilities management personnel and act as the primary facilities manager when required.
  • Oversee daily operations related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of campus facilities.
  • Provide guidance and support to maintenance staff in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security standards within the facilities.
  • Respond to emergencies and fulfill responsibilities during unforeseen circumstances.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proficient knowledge and skills in a specific building trade.
  • Familiarity with multiple building trades including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work.
  • Ability to lead and mentor staff in facilities maintenance operations.
  • Competence in using tools and equipment essential for facility upkeep.
  • Understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and inventory management.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • State Certification in one of the building trades.
