Job Title: Broiler Cook

We are seeking a skilled Broiler Cook to join our team at the Westlake Village Inn Resort and Spa. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items to order, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform.
  • Have thorough knowledge of menus and preparation requirements according to hotel standards.
  • Comply with certification requirements, including Food Handlers Safety.
  • Prepare food items to order, following recipe cards and production, portion, and presentation standards.
  • Start food items ahead of time, ensuring not to prepare beyond estimated needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill.
  • Assist with cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment.
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift.
  • Practice safe work habits to avoid possible injury to self or other associates.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Superior knife skills, experience with butchery, and well-versed in cooking temperatures.
  • Knowledge of meat temperatures and accuracy is a must.
  • California Food handler's card required.
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling & sanitation standards.
  • Excellent critical thinking and time management skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, as overtime may be required from time to time.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to carry, lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to bend and stoop regularly.
  • Must be able to work with grills, ovens, and stovetops.
Work Environment:
  • Fine dining restaurant
  • Upscale casual restaurant
Work Schedule:
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability
Salary:

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
