We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team at Midway Products Group. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for creating and repairing tools and dies to meet the highest standards of quality and precision.
Key Responsibilities- Tool and Die Creation: Design and build tools and dies from part prints, sketches, and reference parts to meet production requirements.
- Machinery Operation: Safely operate tool room machinery to produce high-quality tools and dies.
- Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on progressive dies, manually operated dies, and tooling to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot die issues in the bench area and make corrections to ensure quality parts are produced.
- Quality Control: Work from T.C.O. program reports and last piece references to make corrections as required to produce quality parts.
- Press Room Support: Support press room operations by servicing die sets, troubleshooting dies, and making corrections when possible with the die in the press.
- Customer Interface: Interface with internal and external customers, participate in problem-solving teams, and handle customer and supplier concerns.
- Initiative and Problem-Solving: Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels to improve processes and quality.
- Housekeeping and Safety: Maintain good housekeeping standards and support MOS and safety programs.
- Education and Experience: Prefer high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a certified 4-year apprenticeship program in die making and/or tool die making.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand on concrete floor for duration of work shift, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to floor, and use arms and hands.
- Visual Precision: Visual precision needed for inspecting parts for quality at production equipment speed and reading documents, machine gauges, and precision measuring instruments.
- Physical Strength: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and repetitively lift up to 35 pounds from and to a height of 10-56 inches for the work shift.
- Flexibility: Ability to work in various production areas to promote productivity, quality, and safety.
