At Midway Products Group, we are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Craftsman to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for building and repairing tools and dies from part prints, sketches, and reference parts. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in ensuring the quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and repair tools and dies from part prints, sketches, and reference parts.
  • Operate tool room machinery in a safe and productive manner.
  • Perform tool and die repairs on progressive dies, manually operated dies, and tooling.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot dies in the bench area and make corrections.
  • Work from T.C.O. program reports and last piece references to make corrections as required to produce quality parts.
  • Support press room operations by servicing die sets, troubleshooting dies, and making corrections when possible with the die in the press.
  • Interface with internal and external customers, participate in problem-solving teams, and handle customer and supplier concerns.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Support MOS and safety programs.
  • Practice good housekeeping standards and perform other essential functions as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Prefer high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a certified 4-year apprenticeship program in die making and/or tool die making.
  • Ability to stand on the concrete floor for the duration of the work shift, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor, and use arms and hands.
  • Visual precision needed for visually inspecting parts for quality at production equipment speed and for reading documents, machine gauges, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and repetitively lift up to 35 pounds from and to a height of 10-56 inches for the work shift.
  • Ability to work in all production areas to promote productivity, quality, and safety.
