Job Overview:
This role is responsible for the validation and testing of electric motor and generator systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with electric drive systems and a strong understanding of FMEA and DVP&R processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and plan work to mitigate risk in NTI and NPI programs.
- Work with design leads to establish an initial first-pass test plan early in a program.
- Participate in or plan and host simulation and test collaboration workshops (STCW) early in programs.
- Communicate progress in gateway reviews, including system readiness summaries.
- Quality approval of FMEA/DVP&R with design managers.
- Creation of proactive reliability glide paths.
- Standard work creation, updating, and socialization.
- Project long-term testing needs, including lab space, equipment, and people.
- SME for NPI issues meetings and issue resolution.
- HALT planning assistance but not ownership.
- APQP oversight.
- Provide technical guidance and capture lessons learned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering, computer science, or materials science curriculum.
- 9+ years of experience or master's degree in an engineering, computer science, or materials science curriculum plus 7+ years of experience.
- Previous product development experience (design, validation/test, or analysis).
- Experience with electric drive systems and/or components, with a focus on electric motor and generator.
- Experience with structured FMEA and DVP&R processes.
- Experience with NPI issue resolution process.
- Experience with CAT NPI programs and processes.
