We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Plasma Processing Specialist at Kedrion Biopharma Inc. This role is responsible for maintaining the safety and integrity of plasma and biological samples throughout the processing, storage, and shipment stages.
Key Responsibilities- Sample Processing and Quality Control: Perform plasma and sample processing according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), customer specifications, state and federal regulations, and company policies.
- Sample Centrifugation and Labeling: Conduct sample centrifugation, label control, completion, and inspection to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Product Classification and Documentation: Classify and document product according to donor programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Inventory Management and Product Packing: Manage product packing, inventory, and storage within freezers for maximum efficiency, and control disposition of unsuitable product with concurrent documentation.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Perform quality control on various laboratory equipment, such as freezers, refrigerators, refractometers, and other equipment, as assigned.
- Product Shipment and Verification: Prepare product shipment and verification, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Supply Management and Storage: Receive, inventory, and maintain storage area for incoming supplies.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, ensuring seamless operation of the plasma processing department.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant experience in a laboratory or production environment.
- Availability and Flexibility: Available to work flexible and/or extended shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Occupational Exposure: Occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols.
- Computer Skills: Demonstrated basic knowledge of computer equipment and software, including NextGen, with training provided.
- Documentation Accuracy: Demonstrated accuracy in completing documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, with occasional lifting, bending, and stooping.
- Cold Tolerance: Ability to tolerate cold temperatures in storage freezers and adapt to wide changes in temperature while handling samples and product.
- Visual and Auditory Demands: Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and perform other physical demands of the job.
