Engineering Manager for Manufacturing Operations

As an Engineering Manager in Manufacturing, you will oversee and optimize engineering processes to ensure resource efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity at minimal costs.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Management:
• Administer and enhance engineering processes, ensuring alignment with internal protocols and customer requirements.
• Lead the development of new processes and the refinement of existing ones, evaluating potential impacts and facilitating their execution.
Documentation and Compliance:
• Ensure the technical documentation for products and processes is current and undergoes critical analysis.
• Maintain and oversee the structure of products to guarantee accurate information and efficient material scheduling.
Risk Assessment:
• Develop and manage the FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) for both new and existing products.
Tooling and Budgeting:
• Supervise the creation of tooling and devices for product development, providing necessary support to suppliers and internal teams.
• Define ideal budgeting methods for new products and processes, including feasibility analyses.
Technical Support:
• Provide technical assistance in selecting and evaluating tooling and device suppliers.
• Implement the Control Plan system in accordance with customer specifications.
Continuous Improvement:
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, MUD) within manufacturing processes.
Team Leadership:
• Direct and mentor team activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Investment Management:
• Oversee investment proposals, guiding departments in preparation and monitoring implementation.
Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to product safety standards as outlined in customer specifications.
Innovation:
• Foster a culture of innovation and technological advancement in processes, equipment, and organizational structure.
Performance Monitoring:
• Implement reporting and performance indicators, analyzing results to ensure compliance with procedures and objectives.
Quality Systems:
• Uphold compliance with Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Health and Safety regulations, and internal company policies.
Essential Skills:
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and management capabilities.
- Proficient in IT applications including Word, Excel, and email communication.
Manufacturing Expertise:
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing operations, particularly in tooling, stamping, and welded assembly environments.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and problem-solving tools.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in an automotive industry setting preferred.
- Supervisory experience in manufacturing engineering is advantageous.
KPI Management:
- Track record of managing key performance indicators related to safety, efficiency, and waste reduction.
