Job Summary

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our airport operations team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising crews engaged in skilled mechanical trades in the maintenance and repair of electrical systems, domestic water & wastewater collection systems, airfield, and ground maintenance at the airport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Maintenance Activities: Oversee the maintenance and repair of airfield and landside electrical systems, ensuring that all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Lead a Team of Skilled Trades Personnel: Supervise and manage a team of skilled trades personnel, including electricians, plumbers, and mechanics, to ensure that all maintenance activities are completed to the highest standards.
  • Develop and Implement Maintenance Policies and Procedures: Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures to ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with airport regulations and industry standards.
  • Manage Maintenance Budgets and Resources: Manage maintenance budgets and resources to ensure that all maintenance activities are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Ensure Compliance with Airport Regulations and Industry Standards: Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with airport regulations and industry standards, including FAA rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalency required; Associate degree or Journeyman level certification preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in building construction/maintenance trades required; 5 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance trade preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications: CDL class B License (or ability to obtain within 9 months) required; NC Pesticide License and Collection 1 and/or 2 Certifications preferred.
Competencies
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Best Practices: Knowledge of maintenance best practices, including FAA rules and regulations, FAA Advisory Circular, and applicable software programs and applications.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze and solve problems, including performing basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios.
