Job Summary:

As a Cardiovascular Technician at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in assisting credentialed providers with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac and vascular laboratory environments. Your expertise will be essential in promoting teamwork and reflecting the organization's mission and philosophy goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with cardiology and radiology studies as a scrub assistant or monitor/recorder.
  • Prepare and position patients for invasive procedures.
  • Assist with cardiovascular tests and record patients' hemodynamic activity using specialized electronic test equipment.
  • Manage patient arterial and venous access sites post-procedure.
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Intra Aortic Balloon Pump when required.
  • Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms and alert credentialed providers and team members during procedures.
  • Administer intra-coronary and/or intra-arterial medications under direct supervision.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields using aseptic technique.
  • Operate hemodynamic and monitoring equipment.
  • Perform basic and advanced life support when required.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an accredited invasive cardiovascular technologist training program or equivalent education and experience.
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist Certificate within 12 months of hire or equivalent certification.
  • Ability to recognize and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias.
  • Analytical abilities necessary to monitor and assess patient condition.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years recent interventional cath lab experience.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) for Cardiovascular Labs or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) for Electrophysiology.
