Deputy Mechanical Handling EGS Specialist

Bechtel Corporation is undertaking a historic project at the Hanford Vit Plant, also known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. This one-of-a-kind facility will transform radioactive and chemical waste from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a safe form for disposal. Your contributions will safeguard the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will oversee a team of Mechanical personnel, estimate project staffing needs, and schedule and assign work. You will prepare discipline estimates and work plans and review and approve mechanical investigations and studies. Your leadership will drive high-quality work plans, successful implementation of mechanical components, team support and training, and project performance.
Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, direct, and participate in day-to-day mechanical handling engineering activity on small to medium-sized projects or a portion of a major project with minimal to moderate complexity within a global business unit.
Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of personnel assigned, estimate staffing needs, and schedule and assign work accordingly.
Provide technical input to meet procurement requirements.
Prepare or oversee the preparation of mechanical handling discipline work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manage implementation and performance accordingly.
Review and make recommendations on the mechanical engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience for Level 1, or 10-13 years of relevant experience for Level 2.
Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
Ability to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
Right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
