Role Summary:
Tiffin University is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Assistant Title IX Compliance Officer. This position plays a crucial role in promoting a safe and equitable campus atmosphere, free from discrimination and harassment. The Assistant Title IX Compliance Officer will engage in the investigation of potential violations of Title IX, addressing issues such as sexual misconduct, domestic violence, and related concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into reports of sexual misconduct and discrimination within the university community.
  • Support the university's commitment to fostering an environment where all individuals can thrive without fear of discrimination or harassment.
  • Implement and oversee the university's response to incidents related to Title IX, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Receive and assess reports of discrimination and harassment, responding with appropriate measures.
  • Exercise independent judgment in managing incident reports and resolutions.
  • Facilitate alternative resolutions for formal complaints, documenting efforts and outcomes.
  • Conduct prompt, fair, and impartial investigations, including gathering and evaluating relevant evidence.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings from investigations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all cases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with university policies.
  • Participate in administrative hearings, presenting evidence and addressing inquiries regarding the investigation process.
  • Assist in preparing materials for appeals related to discrimination and misconduct cases.
  • Serve as a resource on equity and diversity matters, promoting an inclusive campus culture.
  • Collaborate with various university departments to enhance awareness and understanding of Title IX issues.
  • Support the university's compliance with federal and state regulations, including Title VI, VII, IX, and related laws.
  • Engage with campus safety and community resources to ensure a coordinated response to Title IX matters.
  • Act as the primary contact for Title IX and civil rights reports, facilitating initial assessments and supportive measures.
  • Coordinate the implementation of supportive measures for all parties involved in Title IX cases.
  • Assist in managing case files, correspondence, and data tracking related to Title IX investigations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, including legal counsel and law enforcement, as necessary.
  • Contribute to data collection and reporting for compliance purposes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills, with the ability to apply facts to policy.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on active listening and respect.
  • Experience working collaboratively with diverse groups, including students, faculty, and community partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in addressing issues related to discrimination and sexual misconduct.
  • Background in conducting investigations and summarizing findings.
  • Familiarity with case management systems.
  • Neutrality in handling sensitive information related to allegations.
  • Experience in mediation or conflict resolution.
