Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Assistant to enhance our Operations team at Epes Transport System, LLC. The primary responsibility of the Customer Service Assistant is to provide administrative support to fulfill the needs of the Customer Service and Planning Departments. This role involves managing all customer service functions for the National Account and coordinating efforts with the National Account Representative.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma; additional college education is preferred.
  • Experience in a truckload environment is advantageous.
  • Skilled in data entry with an emphasis on precision.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Strong employment history with a proven record of reliability.
  • No history of felonies, major offenses, or pending charges; however, a conviction does not automatically disqualify a candidate.
  • Able to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate proactivity.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage stress, interruptions, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Capable of juggling multiple priorities and adhering to work process timelines.
  • Eager to learn and accept new responsibilities.
  • Flexible availability to work varying hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive load tenders from clients through various communication methods.
  • Enter orders into the system and arrange appointments accordingly.
  • Communicate with relevant vendors, distribution centers, or stores for scheduling and update the Epes system.
  • Coordinate load timings with planners based on location and available resources.
  • Collect essential details such as purchase order numbers and trailers, updating the system as necessary.
  • Assist Customer Service Representatives with their tasks and manage assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide temporary coverage for account activities during the absence of a Customer Service Representative.
  • Reschedule any delayed or missed appointments.
  • Exhibit commitment to the Epes Transport System, Inc. Quality Management System and its objectives.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned.
