Anatomic Pathology Technician

Work Location: Miami Lakes, FL

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Shift Hours: 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM (Flexible)

Employment Type: Full-time, Benefit Eligible

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform gross examination of biological specimens, which includes inspecting, describing, measuring, inking, and sectioning anatomic and dermatological samples for further analysis.
• Operate within a dynamic laboratory setting that involves biological and chemical safety considerations.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

• An associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or
• A minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited institution, including at least 24 semester hours in medical laboratory technology courses or science courses that encompass:
  • 6 semester hours of chemistry;
  • 6 semester hours of biology; and
  • 12 semester hours in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related field is preferred.
• Entry-level laboratory technicians and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in operating standard laboratory equipment, including but not limited to telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, and pipettes.

Additional Information:

This position involves regular access to Protected Health Information (PHI). Employees will receive training on maintaining confidentiality and are expected to adhere to all relevant privacy and security regulations. Access to PHI is strictly limited to what is necessary for job responsibilities.
