KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support EPCRA reporting, hazardous waste oversight, SWPPP & SPCC Plan formulation and upkeep, as well as NPDES permitting.
- Assess air emissions, determine suitable control efficiencies, and document operational processes to guarantee compliance with relevant regulations.
- Oversee client projects by defining tasks, managing data, coordinating project execution, and handling invoicing.
- Timely update client records in the internal database.
- Stay informed on the latest advancements in air pollution control technologies.
- Comprehend existing EPCRA reporting mandates and remain updated on annual regulatory modifications, including Tier II Chemical Inventory Reporting and Toxic Release Inventory Reporting.
- Possess familiarity with NPDES Stormwater & SPCC regulations and requirements.
- Compile permit applications, amendment requests, standard exemptions, source inventories, and emission fee calculations for submission to state regulatory bodies for industrial clients.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with current clients while seeking new project opportunities; effectively communicate analysis results both internally and externally in written and verbal formats.
- Participate in conferences, present research papers, and prepare regulatory updates for seminars.
- Convey management's decisions and objectives to staff to align company goals with individual aspirations.
- Ensure optimal utilization and billing of consulting personnel.
- Continuously monitor and assess employee performance against established goals and standards.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES
Directly supervises 1-3 staff members in Environmental Consulting. Executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining staff; and addressing complaints and resolving issues.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental/Civil Engineering, or a related field in Atmospheric/Environmental Science from an accredited institution; a minimum of five years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess regulatory, industry, and technical knowledge regarding permit applicability, emission inventories, air dispersion modeling, and federal and state permitting requirements.
Professional Engineer (PE) designation or the ability to obtain an Iowa PE is preferred. Previous staff management experience is advantageous.
Proficiency in computer applications, including basic programming, word processing, spreadsheet capabilities, and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL ABILITY
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, as well as fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
