Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Cold Header Operator include:

  • Setting up and operating cold heading machinery while ensuring adherence to process specifications.
  • Conducting periodic inspections of key part features to maintain quality standards.
  • Performing die inspections, cleaning, polishing, and preventative maintenance.
  • Removing and installing punches and dies, along with identifying worn or broken tools.
  • Documenting part dimensions in compliance with ISO standards.
  • Utilizing measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and plug gauges to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Reviewing manufacturing orders and prints for accuracy.
Maintenance Duties

In addition to operational responsibilities, the role requires:

  • Conducting routine machine maintenance before each shift to ensure safe operation.
  • Reporting any machine issues to maintenance for timely repairs.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong understanding of mechanical concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • A minimum of five years of experience with cold heading equipment is preferred.
