Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machine Builder to join our team at Automation Engineering Company, LLC. As a Machine Builder, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating parts, pieces, and products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand mechanical assembly blueprints and verify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Perform quality checks on products and parts.
  • Package finished products and prepare them for shipment.
  • Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
  • Use operational procedures and work instructions to make good parts or components.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions when directed by the production supervisor to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Work with engineers and technicians to resolve issues and suggest improvements.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months of experience in assembly related field - preferred.
  • Military service with a related MOS is a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to utilize basic math skills.

Work Environment:

Most work is performed in an office and shop environment. Regular trips to client facility and/or manufacturing plant is also required. Sound knowledge of safety standards within the shop and manufacturing environment, including exposure to regulated hazardous chemicals and equipment is necessary to safely use and operate in such environments.

At times travel will be required as well as working evenings, weekends and/or holidays which is done to support client needs during any shutdowns and/or scheduled maintenance.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move between standing and sitting. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms including pushing and pulling; talk, hear and see to communicate and ensure safety procedures are followed. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
