Job Title: Registered Nurse - CVICU

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.

About the Role

The CVICU is a 24-bed unit that provides specialized care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and contributing to a culture of excellence and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular conditions
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, lab results, and medication administration
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of RN clinical experience in a Critical Care setting (ICU)
  • 3-5 years of ICU RN experience preferred
  • 2 Years of Critical Care ICU/Cardiovascular RN experience strongly preferred
  • Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required and ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within first 3 months)
  • RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN
  • Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others
  • Proficient computer skills required
