Position Summary
The Floor Maintenance Technician is tasked with ensuring the upkeep of all flooring surfaces while maintaining exemplary standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
The role encompasses a variety of essential functions, including but not limited to:

  1. Cleaning and maintaining offices, hallways, communal spaces, and other designated areas.
  2. Relocating furniture as necessary before and after cleaning procedures.
  3. Executing cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, stripping, buffing, shampooing, and waxing floors.
  4. Accurately measuring and handling cleaning chemicals.
  5. Operating chemical dispensing systems and ensuring proper labeling of all substances.
  6. Maintaining, cleaning, and storing equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) effectively.
  7. Keeping an organized inventory of floor areas and scheduling routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  8. Reporting maintenance issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  9. Assisting with the collection of hazardous waste in accordance with safety protocols.
  10. Participating in regular training sessions, including compliance and safety training.
  11. Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
1. Familiarity with basic janitorial duties is advantageous.
2. Strong listening and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and the public.
3. Proficiency in English may be required for certain positions.
4. Ability to anticipate and meet client needs is crucial.
5. A professional appearance is expected, with uniforms required at specific locations.
6. Punctuality is essential.

Education and Experience
1. A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
2. A minimum of 6 months of experience in commercial facilities and janitorial services is desired.

Work Environment
The work environment includes a range of settings from small to large offices, including public and secure areas. Employees may encounter:

  • Private and public restrooms.
  • Safety glasses required for specific tasks.
  • A fast-paced atmosphere with moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to dust, odors, cleaning products, and various environmental conditions.

Physical Requirements
Employees must be able to perform repetitive movements, including standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for various tasks. The role requires:

  • The ability to lift and move items weighing at least 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision capabilities, including close and distance vision, color perception, and depth perception.
