Sun River Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support our clinical team in Patchogue, NY.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete the rooming process and take vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests, record patient data in eCW.
- Perform in-house labs, quality control, and maintenance of equipment according to organizational protocols.
- Draw blood and collect specimens as directed by providers and process accordingly.
- Conduct routine tests in areas such as serology, hematology, chemistry, histology, and cytology using standard techniques and equipment.
- Prepare exam rooms and assist/chaperone during examinations and treatments.
- Keep clinical areas stocked and organized, ensuring all dated materials are current and disposing of outdated supplies.
- Clean and sterilize equipment according to organizational policy and/or manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform basic clerical work, answer phones, and communicate problems/concerns to nurses.
- Ensure all necessary logs are maintained and records for laboratory tests are kept.
- Perform EKGs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records.
- A competitive hourly rate of $22.00.
