Job Summary

The Medical Center of Aurora is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our Palliative Care team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.
  • Collaborate with other members of the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures.
  • Serve as a resource person for staff and model a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certified Hospital Palliative Nurse (CHPN) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
