We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Formulation Development Specialist to join our team at Hired by Matrix. As a key member of our formulation team, you will be responsible for the development and formulation of high-quality hair, skin, and sun care products.
Key Responsibilities- Product Formulation: Develop and formulate a wide range of hair, skin, and sun care products, including gels, creams, lotions, serums, beach products, sticks, sprays, and balms.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of emulsion, polymers, and surfactant technology, as well as general cosmetic technology and formulation techniques.
- Lab Operations: Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures, including pH meters, Brookfield Viscometers, stand mixers, and Silverson homogenizers.
- Prototype Development: Perform and track prototype stability and compatibility.
- Supply Chain Management: Maintain, organize, and order lab supplies/raw materials as necessary.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or a related field, with 0-1 years of formulation experience or currently enrolled in a matriculated program geared towards a 4-year science degree.
- Skills: Ability to follow a set formula and procedure provided by senior chemists to create finished formulations, good problem-solving, decision-making, and organization skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at a bench for 8 hours per day.
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
