Key Responsibilities:

  • Exterior Maintenance: Ensure that all landscaping, including lawns and flowerbeds, is well-kept, hydrated, and nourished.
  • Manage snow removal and ice prevention during winter months, ensuring safe access to all areas.

General Maintenance Duties:

  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the property and address any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Safeguard the proper storage of cleaning supplies and maintenance tools.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from staff and residents in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to report and resolve any building-related issues.
  • Assist in developing and adhering to the maintenance budget.
  • Perform regular assessments of the property to identify and report any structural concerns.
  • Oversee the maintenance of company vehicles and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Manage external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure efficient waste management and disposal practices.
  • Support event setups and cleanups as needed.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with management to promote a safe and efficient living environment.
  • Assist in meal service when required.
  • Be available for on-call duties as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident and operational information.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or environmental services.
  • Experience in groundskeeping and cleaning in residential or similar settings.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Familiarity with maintenance equipment and minor repair techniques.
  • Understanding of basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of landscaping and plant care.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of cleaning protocols and food safety regulations.
  • HVAC certification is advantageous.
  • A passion for working with older adults and enhancing their quality of life.
