POSITION:
Supply Chain Systems Manager - Procurement

DUTIES:
The Supply Chain Systems Manager - Procurement is essential for overseeing the acquisition of resources at National Oilwell Varco, L.P. This role involves the creation of training resources, the development and refinement of operational processes, and the enhancement of the organization’s supply chain efficiency and planning system improvements.

Key responsibilities include supervising and guiding the activities of team members, which encompasses training, professional development, performance assessments, recruitment decisions, and setting goals and performance targets for assigned divisions.

Continuous evaluation of departmental processes, methodologies, and activities is crucial.

Formulate actionable plans for execution, achieve consensus on plans with site teams, identify limitations, and propose solutions that meet and exceed timely requirements.

Lead the team in addressing customer demand, forecasts, and corporate inventory objectives by analyzing reports and dashboards and conducting regular meetings.

Manage the budget and expenses allocated for the procurement team, including travel and contract labor. Identify deficiencies in planning systems and collaborate with relevant departments and technology partners to address issues. Establish and manage systems that support the leadership-driven Business Planning process.

Provide direct support to the cross-functional team and the broader business during the implementation of significant business applications.

Offer guidance on processes, methodologies, and activities to external consultants. Assist Business Analysts in the design and execution of planning systems. Spearhead process reengineering initiatives in partnership with business stakeholders through ongoing improvement meetings. Develop documentation and training resources for all planning and scheduling processes within OMEGA. Provide process guidance for the evaluation of business solutions regarding 'build versus buy' decisions.

Identify suitable Information Technology applications to support business goals and create new strategic business opportunities in collaboration with other leaders and managers.

Ensure that the design, development, and maintenance of systems, programs, and software are consistently applied across the organization and align with business objectives in cooperation with each regional Information Technology Group.

Implement and enhance supply chain planning for the company’s Enterprise Solutions group. Oversee all supply planning activities, production forecasts, customer-facing orders, and the distribution of finished goods to clients. Develop training materials for team members to establish planning and scheduling processes. Ensure that systems and software are effectively utilized throughout the organization and meet the company’s planning requirements. Supervise eleven (11) Senior Business Analysts in Procurement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A Master's degree, or a foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management is required, along with one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience in a related field supervising resource procurement, creating training materials, developing and revising processes, and overseeing the optimization of the company’s supply chain and planning system improvements; formulating actionable plans for execution, achieving consensus on plans with site teams, identifying limitations, and proposing solutions that meet and exceed timely requirements; creating documentation and training materials for all planning and scheduling processes in OMEGA; overseeing all supply planning activities, production forecasts, customer-facing orders, and the distribution of finished goods to clients; and developing training materials for team members to establish planning and scheduling processes.
