Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement 1D Models: Create, refine, and analyze one-dimensional dynamic and steady-state component and system models for various HVAC applications, including fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Simulation and Analysis: Use simulation tools and software to analyze model behavior and performance of generic vapor compression refrigeration systems, heat exchangers, heat pumps, chiller plants, and energy recovery systems.
- Data Analysis and Optimization: Analyze system and component data for optimization and automation purposes, developing modules for automating component and system-level calibration and tools for creating and processing performance maps.
- Collaboration and Validation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure model accuracy, validate and verify models against experimental data and real-world scenarios.
- Documentation and Presentation: Document and present findings, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

- Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field with 5+ years of experience or a Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience or a PhD.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience in 1D modeling and simulation, with a strong understanding of relevant tools and techniques, thermodynamics and heat transfer fundamentals, and experience with modeling and design of experiments (DOE).
- Simulation Software: Proficiency in simulation software such as MATLAB/Simulink, Modelon Impact, GT-Suite, Dymola, VapCyc, CoilDesigner, Simscape, Amesim, or similar tools.
- Communication and Analytical Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively, and solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
