Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a qualified Sleep Medicine Physician to assume the role of Chief of the Sleep Medicine Section. This position is ideal for a board-certified physician specializing in Sleep Medicine, preferably with a foundational background in Internal Medicine or Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine.
The successful candidate will possess prior leadership experience, comprehensive training in Sleep Medicine, and a strong commitment to patient care as well as the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
In this leadership role, you will oversee the Sleep Medicine Program, manage patient care, analyze sleep studies, supervise clinical staff, and engage in educational activities. This position also includes a clinical affiliation with a prominent medical school.
Work Schedule: Standard hours from Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, with options for flexible scheduling and excluding federal holidays.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Valid U.S. Medical License without restrictions
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship in Sleep Medicine
- At least 5 years of experience post-fellowship in Sleep Medicine
- Board Certification in Sleep Medicine
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a supervisory capacity
- Background in post-graduate medical education
- Research experience in the field
- Experience in the development of Sleep Labs
- Expertise in establishing Sleep Medicine fellowship programs
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of $315,000 - $370,000
- Annual performance-based bonus potential of up to $12,000
- Guaranteed salary increments
- Annual allocation of $1,000 for Continuing Medical Education (CME)
