Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Measure, mix, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications, maintaining a high level of precision and quality.
  • Assist customers by answering simple questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
  • Compute charges for medication and equipment dispensed to hospital clients, ensuring accurate billing and financial records.
  • Enter medical and demographic data into a computer, assisting in the production and preparation of reports, including billing information.
  • Fill bottles with prescribed medications, type and affix labels, and price and file prescriptions that have been filled.
  • Mix pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions, verifying accuracy and completeness.
  • Supply and monitor robotic machines that dispense medicine into containers, labeling the containers with precision and care.
  • Transfer medication from vials to sterile, disposable syringes, using aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience working in a pharmacy
