Endoscopic Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Endoscopic Technician to join our team at Texas Health Resources. As an Endoscopic Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting physicians and nurses with GI procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians and nurses with GI procedures, including setting up endoscopic equipment and handling instrumentation.
  • Take actions to reduce or eliminate patient risk and follow policies, protocols, and guidelines set forth by THR.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and participate in Time-Out process, washing hands, and operating automatic scope washers.
  • Clean scopes manually according to guidelines set forth per manufacturer and keep proper records and documents accordingly in daily logs in scope processing room.
  • Report any problems or concerns with scopes or scope washers and perform duties using developmental considerations for age-specific to GI Lab.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year GI clinical or hospital experience preferred.
  • CNA - Certified Nurses Aide, MA - Medical Assistant, EMT - Emergency Medical Technician, or BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support certification preferred.
  • Detailed oriented, good organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
