Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Technologist Supervisor-Specialist to join our team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. This is a key leadership role that requires strong clinical and administrative skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of radiology technologists and other support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to radiology services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of radiology services.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless integration of radiology services.
  • Provide education and training to radiology technologists and other staff members.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) in Diagnostic Imaging or a related specialty.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a lead technologist or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong clinical and administrative skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to radiology services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Radiation Science, Business, or a closely related field.
  • Master's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience working in an academic medical center environment.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and other stakeholders.

The physical demands of this position include prolonged standing, walking, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. The successful candidate will also be able to work in a noisy environment and adapt to frequent changes and priorities.
