American Residential Services is seeking an experienced HVAC Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and developing our service, installation, and sales staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the service, installation, and sales staff, including hiring, terminating, and disciplining employees, scheduling employees, setting work priorities, conducting staff meetings, counseling employees, evaluating performance, and directing work assignments to ensure effective production.
  • Support fellow HVAC Service, Installation, and Sales Managers as needed.
  • Evaluate workload and schedules to best utilize manpower and maximize profits, including managing labor expenses to stay within budget guidelines.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Achieve monthly budgeted revenue.
  • Ensure that materials and equipment are ordered and dispensed for scheduled jobs, schedule repairs for parts to ensure minimal downtime in job completion, and manage material expense to stay within budget.
  • Conduct research and participate in the marketing process of the department.
  • Generate reports and measures of departmental operations, as well as records on all inventory, tools, and vehicles, and review reports with management.
  • Instruct crews on proper use of materials and quality workmanship.
  • Review payroll records to ensure that technicians are paid properly and that record keeping is in compliance.
  • May conduct job site inspections.
  • Ensure that employees have proper tools for the job and that they are properly maintained.
  • Assist the dispatching operation to ensure appropriate technician selection for type of service.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance of vehicles to ensure proper operation.
  • Evaluate staff to determine training requirements, provide on-the-job training and support to employees.
  • Oversee facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring that assets are protected and controlled.
  • Observe all safety and company rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
  • Follow the guidelines for the Senior Care, Ethics, and Quality Assurance Process.
  • Conduct weekly meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in a HVAC management position is highly preferred.
  • Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • A working knowledge of gas piping, electricity, plumbing, and air flow are required.
  • Knowledge of local and national HVAC code is preferred but not required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of local codes and general industry standards.
  • Strong supervisory, communications, computer, and mathematical skills are required.
