Position Overview

Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of an OSP/ISP Technician responsible for the installation, removal, and relocation of standard telecommunications equipment to support Base Telecommunications Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Splice, terminate, and conduct testing of fiber optic cables to fulfill project specifications.
  • Execute cabling, power supply, and grounding for various equipment and hardware while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Carry out cabling, ironwork, wiring, and splicing tasks, along with cable and lead verification.
  • Install, remove, or relocate a variety of telecommunications equipment.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the installation of telecommunications equipment and cabling infrastructure. Certification as a CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) is mandatory. Proficient in the installation and testing of CAT 3/5/5e/6, as well as ISP/OSP fiber optic cabling, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) data management. Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and established safety and quality standards is essential. Capable of performing cabling, ironwork, wiring, and splicing functions, as well as cable and lead verification, while utilizing basic procedural methods for job specifications and schematics. Must possess the ability to test and activate various communication devices. U.S. citizenship is required.
