One Hat Construction Inc. is excited to introduce an opportunity for a Senior Interior Designer to join our team. We're seeking a creative leader with proven project management skills and the ability to handle high-end residential and boutique commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Client Relations:
- Meet with clients to establish design objectives and develop high-level concepts tailored to each project
- Develop written scopes for finish materials, source selections, and manage client expectations
- Prepare design presentations, upsell design features, and guide clients through the design process
- Selection and coordination of architectural specifications, finish materials, decorative and technical lighting, furniture, fabrics, art, and accessories
- Act as the primary client liaison, building strong relationships and ensuring a smooth project journey
- Conduct site visits, and maintain an organized selection room
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage multiple reconstruction projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management strategies
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure timely delivery of materials and services
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Facilitate meetings with the CEO to provide updates on project status and gather feedback
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met and uphold high safety standards
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in Interior Design or a similar creative field
- Experience: Proven experience in project management within the construction industry, with 8+ years of design experience (3+ years with the same firm preferred)
- Professional Membership: Allied or professional membership with ASID preferred
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Revit and AutoCAD, with SketchUp and Lumion 3D as a plus
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office; experience with Buildertrend and Xactimate preferred
