We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to provide administrative support to our HR department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining employee files, entering data into our HR system, and providing support during the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle the HR front desk, including sign-in process and answering general HR questions.
  • Provide administrative support for the HR department, including filing, typing, copying, and mailing.
  • Create and maintain employee and recruitment files.
  • Help update the benefits, sign-in, and rehire packet at the end of each year.
  • Enter employee data into the Human Resources system.
  • Respond to employment verifications and other general inquiries.
  • Run and maintain regular HR reports, such as the New Hire report for New Hire Notices, and work Authorization spreadsheets.
  • Handle the tracking and follow-up for missing paperwork and work permits.
  • Request background and live scan requests while updating the tracker daily.
  • Assist the HR department with benefit orientations, employee events, form processing, parking permits administration, IT requests, Summer Programs, and scheduling of interviews and meetings.
  • Maintain department supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have equivalent to two years of general office clerical work that has provided the applicant with the knowledge and abilities listed. Human Resources experience is preferred but not required. Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in business or a job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule:

This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

Schedule: Varies based on hiring manager expectations.

Anticipated hiring range: $22.00 per hour.

Time Base: Part-Time.

This is an onsite position.

General Information:

The selected candidate is required to pass a thorough department background investigation and live scan.

In accordance with the California State University (CSU) Out-of-State Employment Policy, TUC is a state entity whose business operations reside within the State of California and prohibits hiring employees to perform work outside of California.
