Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dashboard Developer to join our team in Hartford, CT. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing dashboards using MicroStrategy and Qlik Sense.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop dashboards using MicroStrategy and Qlik Sense
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards for insurance claims
  • Collaborate with the team to identify business requirements and develop solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in MicroStrategy and Qlik Sense
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with Snowflake
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment
  • Familiarity with the insurance industry is advantageous

  1. Is the system/database being used for reporting and dashboards an existing system, or will it need to be developed or greatly enhanced?
  • No, it works with claims IT. Looking for someone who is proficient.
  1. Are there known deliverables in a day timeframe that this position will be responsible for?
  • No specific known deliverables at the moment, would need to discuss with team. At least a few weeks to get access to everything. This role will closely work with reports that need revamping using an agile methodology. Timelines and resources will be established for template design.
  1. How large is the team, and what levels of experience do team members possess?
  • The team consists of 3 members internally, including a task developer and data analyst. The focus is primarily on developing reports. Candidates should have more than 5 years of experience, with a preference for more extensive backgrounds.
  1. What is the level of the role?
  • This is an individual contributor role, specifically a lead-level developer. The candidate will not be managing people but should be able to lead and coach team members.
  1. What is the tool strategy at this point?
  • Currently, the strategy is micro (MicroStrategy). Approximately 60-70% of it needs to be revamped. Experience with both MicroStrategy and QlikSense is preferred, especially as the team transitions from QlikView to QlikSense.
  1. Are there any specific requirements for dashboard development?
  • General dashboard development experience is acceptable. The focus is primarily on reports and dashboards for insurance claims.
  1. What about relocation?
  • No relocation; looking for local candidates only.
  1. Is this role for a 100% developer or someone with dashboard development experience who has managed and supervised delivery?
  • Seeking a 100% developer, although experience with dashboard development is beneficial.
